My name is Alexis, and I am a licensed social worker and psychotherapist in the state of Georgia. I graduated from the University of Georgia with my Bachelor degrees in both Psychology and Religion as well as my Master’s in Social Work and a Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a doctoral student completing my Doctorate in Social Work, Advanced Clinical Practice, at Tulane University.
My work and academic research focus on the impact of childhood trauma and attachment stress across the lifespan, and I am a cross-culturally sensitive therapist. I work with struggling children, teens, young adults, and families, specializing in mood disorders, self-harm, trauma, and attachment. I help individuals navigate emotional challenges and improve their mental health, and by treating the family as a whole, I strengthen familial bonds, enhance communication, and provide invaluable support to create a nurturing home environment.
I view the therapeutic process as a collaboration between client and therapist. Expect to feel empowered during our sessions as you know yourself and your life best. My goal is to listen, empathize, and strategize with my clients and I do so utilizing creative techniques and a relaxed/inviting personality. No matter the concern that brought you to therapy, you deserve a therapist that will listen to your story and make you an active participant in the therapy process. Allow me to offer support and help you build effective coping techniques as you aim to be your best self.
I can provide you with paperwork for reimbursement from your insurance company if you are seeking out-of-network sessions.
