If balancing academic/work pressure and your personal life is leaving you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or burned out, I am here to help. Many clients I work with enter therapy feeling stuck in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, people-pleasing, or pushing themselves at the expense of their well-being. Perfectionism and self-criticism often make it even harder to slow down or feel satisfied. I specialize in therapy with college/graduate students and young professionals struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, early career stress, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I also work with survivors of sexual trauma and individuals who want to better understand how past experiences continue to shape their emotions, relationships, and sense of self. My approach is warm, collaborative, and values-focused. After working together, my clients often have greater self-confidence, increased insight into how past experiences shape current patterns, and a more compassionate relationship with themselves. I integrate psychodynamic therapy with evidence-based behavioral approaches such as CBT, ACT, and DBT, along with emotion-focused, self-compassion, and strengths-based perspectives. We'll explore practical tools to move forward from unhelpful patterns so that you can live more authentically. I am here to support you in understanding yourself with greater insight and compassion, easing anxiety’s influence on your wellbeing, and building a life that reflects your values rather than fear or pressure. I offer telehealth therapy for busy academic and professional lives. If this sounds like you, I invite you to explore my website and reach out for a consultation. I see clients in Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, and Colorado. I am also PSYPACT authorized to see clients in 40 additional states. *Note: I am in-network with several insurances in Massachusetts and Colorado, and I am out-of-network in New York, New Hampshire, and in PSYPACT states. I provide a superbill for my clients to request reimbursement from their insurance. Please reach out with any questions; I'm happy to work with you to keep therapy affordable.

I work best with students who are balancing caregiving responsibilities with their own personal and academic goals. Many of my clients experience stress, burnout, grief, or feelings of isolation as they care for a loved one while trying to navigate school and life transitions. My approach is mindfulness-based, practical, and supportive, helping students develop coping strategies, set boundaries, and reconnect with their own needs. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, grief, or the emotional weight of caregiving, I provide a space where you can feel heard and supported. You don’t have to manage everything alone—I’m here to help.

As a therapist, I specialize in supporting young adults and couples as they navigate life’s transitions, relationships, and challenges. My client-centered approach explores root causes while building practical coping skills for daily life. Using a trauma-informed lens, I integrate yoga-based mindfulness and somatic practices to support nervous system regulation and deeper healing. Psychodynamic and narrative therapy help us understand how your worldview was shaped and how it influences your present. We may also incorporate IFS based parts work to gently explore and understand the different parts of your inner experience. With training in the Gottman Method, I help couples strengthen communication, connection, and trust. Together we focus on deepening friendship while managing the practical demands of partnership. You’ll learn tools for healthy conflict resolution and collaboration, remembering you are on the same team. I am committed to creating a nonjudgmental, compassionate space where you feel safe and supported. I understand that beginning therapy can feel intimidating, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit.

I believe the therapeutic process can be enlightening, challenging, at times uncomfortable, but ultimately transformative and healing. My hope for the relationship we co-create in this process as therapist and client is that you feel affirmed, cared for, safe, and valued. Through a holistic perspective that integrates the mind and body, I aim to empower my clients to identify with and realign with their values in order to achieve their goals and express their most authentic selves. I am passionate about helping individuals move past trauma so it no longer defines their present day experiences. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and my practice draws upon the modalities and foundations of EMDR (formally trained), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory, Systems Theory, Empowerment Perspective, and the mind-body connection. I am trauma informed and inclusive. I have had the pleasure of working with adults, young-adults, adolescents, first responders, active military duty, veterans, individuals who have experienced sexual assault, anxiety, depression, and relational conflicts. I have a particular focus on PTSD and trauma. I deeply look forward to what lies ahead in our work together.

Do you feel numb or disconnected lately? Struggling to manage emotions, stay focused, or keep up with everything on your plate? Maybe perfectionism is running the show—even when you’re exhausted. Maybe you’re using drinking, weed, or other habits to cope. Maybe guilt, shame, or feeling “not enough” hits you more than you let on. Relationships might feel confusing or repetitive, or you might find yourself always on alert, restless, isolating, or overworking because slowing down feels uncomfortable. College can also bring up painful experiences you didn’t expect—old wounds, traumatic events, or something that happened (like sexual assault or abuse) that changed how you feel about yourself, others, or the world. Adjusting socially, emotionally, and academically can be harder than anyone talks about. If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I work experientially, integrating somatic approaches, EMDR, psychodrama, and other in-action modalities to help you reconnect with yourself, shift stuck patterns, and feel more grounded and in control of your life again.

I am passionate about my work and aim to build a collaborative partnership with my clients, fostering transformation, fulfillment, and growth. I believe in establishing trust and letting the present moment guide the therapeutic process. I work toward developing a deeper understanding of how our body sensations, mind, and emotions shape our sense of well-being. Throughout my 25 years of experience, I have worked with a wide range of counseling and therapy modalities. I'm bilingual in English and Hebrew and can offer services in both languages. One of the most important elements of therapy is finding the right fit. To explore whether working with me feels right for you, please email me at ornapele@gmail.com. I believe being a student and learning is an opportunity, and sometimes having a consistent therapist alongside can make the difference and help you get the most out of the opportunity. Being in school is not a singular thing, it’s not just about being the student in class who does assignments and gets the grade. In addition to being a student, there is one’s mental, physical, and emotional health, there are often bills to pay, and often the needs of others to meet. There are many other parts of ourselves and our lives that intersect with and function together with being in school. It can be overwhelming. It can be an adjustment. Transitions are big and important. There are our lives both in and out of school. Students are often also family members, caregivers, working individuals, or living with loss, trauma, depression, stress, or a medical illness. Students also learn differently, including some with accommodations for success. Some students find they need to confront an overwhelming need for perfection, or perhaps one is facing a particular challenge that is important to look at rather than look away. Therapy can be helpful when you are in school. I like to meet a client where they are at and begin by understanding you. I offer my warmth, and capacity to listen and to hold space even when the workable feels unworkable. I offer my experience and knowledge in counseling and in the creative art therapies, and hold value in an inclusive and affirmative lens. I enjoy working with students in higher education, meeting them in the places where school intersects with other parts of self that must be given care and attention, or to look more closely at or develop one’s career journey. I employ both talk therapy and the use of creative, expressive processes such as movement, poetry, art, music, story, and metaphor. The work is collaborative between counselor and client, being open about therapy goals and progress. I place value on your inherent strengths, and believe that we all hold motivation and an innate capacity to heal and be the very best versions of ourselves. Please call or email me to schedule a free consultation call.

I work best with clients who may appear to have it together on the outside while internally feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally exhausted. Many are navigating trauma, OCD, mood changes, identity exploration, or relationship stress. I especially enjoy working with LGBTQ+ clients and those looking for an authentic, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to better understand themselves and heal.
