Life throws curve balls. You don't have to take them on alone. I believe in creating a safe environment to help you manage everything you are carrying. In addition to private practice, I have experience working in community behavioral health for 7 years and in a brief intervention virtual program for 3 years, providing therapy to adolescents and adults. I have worked with clients with various diagnoses and those seeking assistance in self-esteem, relationships, life transitions, parenting, and grief and loss, among others. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. I believe in establishing a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients to work together to achieve established goals in a safe and trusting environment. It takes courage to ask for help and seeking support in therapy is the first step in making a positive change. Throughout every session, I work to help you develop and utilize coping mechanisms to make progress towards your goals. I look forward to working with you!

I am inspired to work in mental health care because I am passionate about helping individuals overcome challenges, find resilience, and achieve a better quality of life. I find it deeply rewarding to be part of my patients’ journeys toward healing and growth, and I value the opportunity to address the stigma around Mental Health and advocate for compassionate, evidence-based care. I ensure patients feel heard and understood by actively listening, reflecting their thoughts and feelings, and validating their experiences. I create a safe, non-judgmental space, pay attention to verbal and nonverbal cues, and tailor my approach to their unique needs, fostering trust and collaboration. Building trust and a strong Therapeutic Alliance with my patients begins with creating a safe, nonjudgmental, and empathetic environment where they feel heard and respected. I approach each patient with genuine curiosity about their experiences and ensure that I validate their emotions and perspectives. Consistency and reliability are key, so I strive to communicate clearly and follow through on what I say. I also prioritize transparency by explaining my thought process, treatment recommendations, and the rationale behind decisions to involve the patient in their care plan actively. Additionally, I respect their autonomy and individuality, recognizing that trust is earned over time through mutual collaboration and demonstrating my commitment to their well-being.

Hi, I'm Dr. Spesh, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with specialized experience in culturally informed treatment of anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and other stress-related disorders. I enjoy working with culturally diverse individuals with a broad range of psychological problems, life, & relationship issues. I am a Yale-trained clinician with over a decade of experience in providing psychotherapy. At my practice, D.I.V.E. Therapy & Consulting LLC, I provide individual therapy focused on a range of issues. As an LGBTQ ally with a specialized background in LGBTQ health, I also offer evaluations and letters for gender-affirming hormone therapy and surgery. As an experienced therapist I recognize that people seek therapy for a range of clinical and/or life issues, but the common goal is reducing and addressing barriers that get in the way of living a fulfilling life. This is the foundation on which "Dr. Kay" builds and what helped her thrive after battling major depression in college. I was born in India, grew up in the Middle East, and immigrated to the United States at the age of eleven. Growing up in three countries taught me to appreciate the diversity of the human experience, but more importantly, helped me understand that deep down inside, many of us want the same things - safety, love, affirmation, and happiness. Following my graduation from Arizona State University in May 2007, I entered the field of mental health with a desire to work in spaces as diverse as the people I intended to help. I began my journey with an internship in private practice, where I developed the skills necessary to treat a wide variety of mood and trauma disorders. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling in May 2012 and spent the next four years working with Native American families on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. My time on the reservation was equal parts rewarding and formative, and it solidified my desire to work with individuals and families who have often been historically overlooked or mistreated in healthcare spaces. Upon moving to Atlanta in 2016, I began my ongoing work with members of local LGBTQ+ communities of color. I also returned to private practice at this time and began my work in daytime television. I was extensively involved with Divorce Court in on and off-camera capacities for several seasons before setting out to found a private practice of my own. The formation of Garuda Counseling is, in many ways, a culmination of my experiences as both a person and as a professional. I am excited to work with individuals for all walks of life, but my passion remains working alongside those who have felt unseen or unheard in traditional counseling spaces. Let’s talk soon - I know we can accomplish great things together.

Life can feel overwhelming sometimes. You may look like you're holding everything together on the outside while inside you feel anxious, stressed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. I help individuals, couples, and families with adult children untangle what's stuck beneath the surface — to feel more connected, grounded, and steady, even in the hardest moments. For over 25 years, I've worked with clients navigating anxiety, stress, grief, loss, life transitions, self-doubt, relationship struggles, communication breakdowns, premarital work, divorce, parenting challenges, empty nesting, and more. Therapy is a space to exhale and slow down — where you don't have to hold everything alone. It's a chance to feel genuinely seen, understood, and safe as you move toward meaningful change, whether individually, with your partner, or your family. Together, we get curious about the cycles, patterns, and different "parts" of you — the ones that once kept you safe, but may now be standing between you and the life, love and relationships you are longing for. My work draws on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment work, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Coaching, Mindfulness, and other relational approaches — always tailored to your unique needs and goals. Throughout our work, I will unwaveringly hold your strength, possibility, and brilliance - even when you can’t see it. I love working with insightful, curious clients who are motivated for change. Feel free to contact me to schedule a complimentary consultation.

My practice is designed to support students who are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, or the challenges of navigating new phases in life. Whether it’s the pressure of academic or family expectations, managing cultural tensions, or struggling with uncertainty about the future, I understand how these issues can make even day-to-day tasks feel heavy and consuming. Many of my clients find themselves caught in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, or feeling stuck between different identities and responsibilities. As a first-generation immigrant and veteran, I bring both lived experience and clinical insight to the work I do. I specialize in supporting immigrants and children of immigrants who are balancing complex cultural dynamics while trying to succeed academically, socially, and personally. My goal is to help students like you break free from the weight of these internal and external pressures, and move toward a life that feels grounded and self-directed. Together, we’ll create a plan that is realistic, culturally responsive, and tailored to your goals. If you’re ready to explore new ways of coping, build confidence, and feel more in control of your path forward, I’m here to offer support, insight, and tools to help you thrive.

My name is Jessica Kettell and I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I am here to help you restore your mental health and empower you to live your life to your fullest potential. Are you feeling sad or empty? Do you have trouble sleeping? Or maybe, you are so overwhelmed, anxious, or discouraged that it’s hard for you to make it through the day? You might find it hard to focus on tasks or assignments. Whatever problems you are facing right now, let’s tackle them together! You are not alone. You deserve to be happy and enjoy your life. I have completed a Fellowship Program in Functional and Integrative Psychiatry with Dr. James Greenblatt. My lifelong dream has been to make mental health care more accessible to individuals and to reduce the stigma associated with mental health treatment. Just as it is normal to seek treatment for diabetes, it should be natural to seek treatment to improve your mental health. You are a biochemically unique individual. A treatment that works well for someone, might not work best for you. That is why I use an evidence-based, whole-body, personalized approach to identify all factors that might be contributing to your mental health condition such as nutrition, lifestyle, hormones, genetics, and stress. Good nutrition and lifestyle practices are the foundation of mental wellness. I would love to support you on your mental health journey. Let’s do this together!
